This weekend, I drove down to Emily and Leo's new apartment at Cheshire Academy (CT), while Geoff hung out in Waltham to finish up some freelance design projects. It was awesome to see Em and Leo, though we all missed Geoff. Perhaps the highlight of the weekend was helping them choose their first dog, a pretty, calm golden retriever, whom they named Luna ("moon" in Spanish). I felt special to be a part of bringing Luna home. Em and Leo were like new parents, watching her sleep and always aware of how she was doing. As Luna got to know her new home, she also came to like me pretty well (and vice versa). I had fun running with everyone and joining in on chants of "Good girl Luna!" and "Come on girl. Vamos."
I made it home Sunday morning and Geoff and I went out to brunch at Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown (BEST pancakes). We stopped at a yard sale where I bought knitting needles and super soft yarn for a quarter (I'm hoping to make a scarf for winter). When we got home, Geoff passed out on the couch. He always stays up super late when I'm not home (maybe he can't stand to go to bed without me). I think he was more tired from the weekend than me!
Here's the Geoff take on this weekend... With Amy gone, I reverted to my old ways of bachelorhood, meaning that I stayed up untill 4am each night, played video games, watched movies, and ate bad food. How could you go wrong with that? However, I did miss my Amy. I spent most of the day Saturday working on a freelance project for a good cause - A company called Vegi Power that transforms diesel vehicles into oil run vehicles. I've heard of some bands that run their tour vans on this. They say people always love it when they drive by because the exhaust smells like chinese food. mmmm Chinese food... here are the samples I sent them. Which do you prefer?

I also caught a concert at P.A.'s Lounge in Somerville. It was quite possibly the most empty venue I've ever been to.
There was a total of 20 people in both the bar side and concert side, 7 of which were members of the band. It sort of felt like watching a band practice in the fishbowled basement, only because the first act looked like two stoned kids playing acoustic guitar and singing really poorly under red spot lights. I almost peed a little because it was so scary. Thankfully the band I went to see, Higgins, was very good and well worth the $8 cover charge. What's that you say? Never heard of Higgins? Well... why not click the play button below (It took me an hour to figure out how to post this so you better press play!) or check out their myspace page at www.myspace.com/higgins.
Higgins - Drop Off
That was our weekend!
Best,
A&G
