It's been quite a while since our last post. We've been busy with concerts (Regina Spektor, Tori Amos), family birthdays (4 in October alone), and other random things. I'm not really sure what to write about, but it's 6:30 on a Saturday morning and I can't sleep. I've been up since 5:30 reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. It tells the story of an old man who used to live in the circus. Some chapters are set in the assisted living home he lives in at the age of 90. Other chapters are set when he is younger and working for a circus. It's funny, sad, and sometimes a bit disturbing. So far, I am enjoying it. I think when I am done with it, I may take on the challenge of reading the Harry Potter series back to back since all books are completed now. I started reading them when I was in my early teens and had to wait 2 years between each book, so I think it'd be fun to see what other things I notice when I'm actually reading the complete story together. Of course, reading those seven books could take me a good year; I don't seem to get much reading time lately between work and various weekend excursions.
Geoff's been sick this week, so we are actually staying home for the weekend, or he is. I am going to hang out with Hadassah and Lydia today while Allen and Beth are away for the weekend, but I'll have Sunday to finally catch up on laundry and cleaning. It seems like those chores never go away. I'm hoping to get some exercise in, too.
I'd love to go for a walk this morning. Unfortunately it is pouring out. This stinks because I was hoping to run around the yard with Hasassah and Lydia today.
We have pictures to post - Geoff carved an awesome pumpkin last weekend; the Regina Spektor concert was fun; Tori Amos is sparkly; fall colors are everywhere. We'll try to post them soon (I'm on the wrong computer for that).
7am - maybe I should start thinking about starting the day. I'm obviously not going back to sleep now. I just hope I'll stay awake for my day with the girls!
